applique Pillows Playful Petals Quilts

Mini Buds Pattern

Mini Buds

A lot of you have been waiting very patiently for the release of 2 new Playful Petals freebie patterns–and today is the day for the Mini Buds pattern. =)

Mini Buds is a little 15″ mini quilt that makes quick use of a mini charm pack (or 2.5″ squares) and a bit of yardage.  It is designed to be used in conjunction with Playful Petals, using the techniques outlined in the book.  And, it’s a little thank you to all of you who support my blog, have purchased by book, and have given a lot of encouragement over the years.  Thank you!!

The pattern cover might give you a little bit of a hint to some more exciting things in the works over here. 😉

Day 4 of the Playful Petals blog tour also brings with it a couple photos of the Daisy Fields quilt and pillow from my book.  The fabrics I used for this quilt are from the Notting Hill collection by Joel Dewberry for Free Spirit Fabrics.  If you are looking for a fun Christmas project, I think this quilt would be darling in Christmas fabrics.  Those little flowers have reminded me of poinsettias from the day I made this quilt.

Natalia did the quilting on this one for me–I love that I can send anything over to her with little instructions and she always nails it.

Faith of Fresh Lemons Quilts is today’s stop on the Playful Petals blog tour.  Faith and I were in a quilting bee together years ago which is when I first started following her blog.  She’s an amazing quilter & I’ve seen some peeks of her Playful Petals project and I can’t wait to see the full reveal!

I hope you are enjoying the tour!

Quilt Blocks Quilting Bees

Abundance of Geese

Flying Geese

Welcome, welcome to all of the new followers who have found LMS!  There is still lots of time to enter my giveaway–it’s a good one. =)

I just finished up my Be Purposeful quilting bee blocks this morning…finally!–They were due the first of December but they just kept getting pushed to the back burner.  But, boy, once I started I just kept on going.

We were asked to make 3 or 4 of the 6 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ flying geese units–I ended up with 15 of them!  That little section above is my favorite one–I especially found that I  enjoyed the little Heather Bailey Picnic Daisy Tangerine print–it’s a great basic and I might have to pick it up in a couple other colors.

The fabrics were a lot of fun to work with–very fallish in my mind.  I started with the stack I shared with you a week ago:

And added several more fabrics to them from my stash.

These blocks will be headed up to Carla(you can see more of the blocks she has received for this quilt).  I can’t wait to see this one finished up!

Sunday Stash

I realized I hadn’t shared a Sunday Stash in a long time!  These are last weeks acquisitions(all purchased from Hawthorne Threads) which will be made into flying geese blocks for the Be Purposeful Bee.  Fabrics from the top are:

Winner & Eye Candy

I’m kicking off the week with my magazine winner…

Comment #60–BreannaS…congrats!  I’ll be in touch shortly!

Now onto some more fabricy goodness….let’s talk Notting Hill by Joel Dewberry.

If you guys have a chance to work with this amazing fabric, snatch it up!  The colors are so vibrant and really pretty much perfection.

I’ve been working on a lot of different projects over the last several weeks and these fabrics have been just a joy to work with!  You will be able to purchase them sometime in November–I had heard the end of November.  So, keep an eye out for them.

In other news, for all of you Birdie Stitchers/Embroidery Lovers, I have a couple Holiday Embroidery designs that I hope to share with you as freebies in the very near future so be sure to keep an eye out for those also. =)

Enjoy your Monday!
